PLAY DATES AGES WALKING- 3 YEARS

The Play Date class is a 50-minute parent or guardian participation class for children that are walking up to 3 years old. Toddlers navigate their way through warm-up obstacle courses and continue onto various stations in the gym to work on basic gymnastics skills. We tumble on the floor, balance on the beams, swing on the bars and jump on the trampoline. Your child will learn motor skills, spatial awareness, socialization, perceptual skills, balance and coordination. The benefits go beyond simply learning to do gymnastics and dive into skills helpful for life such as risk-taking and confidence. Play Date classes are fun for parents, too!


GROMMETS AGES 3-5 YEARS

The Grommets class is the first of our independent classes designed for children 3-5 years old. In this 50-minute class, we tumble on the floor, balance on the beams, swing on the bars and jump on the trampoline. The class focuses on tumbling, balance, coordination, agility, listening skills, independence, patience and growth! Watch your child grow and develop physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. The benefits go beyond simply learning to do gymnastics and dive into skills helpful for life such as risk-taking and confidence.

HANG FIVE AGES 5-6 YEARS

The 60-minute Hang Five class is for boys and girls 5-6 years old that are full of cartwheels, forward rolls, rope swings, hanging, balancing, jumping and running! The Hang Five class is full of social, emotional, cognitive and skill growth! The benefits go beyond simply learning to do gymnastics and dive into skills helpful for life such as risk-taking and confidence.


LEVEL 1 AGES 6+

The one hour level 1 class is for girls ages 6 and up. Students learn cartwheels, various rolls, handstands, pull overs, proper running form, squat ons, beam walks, jumps, turns and so much more! Our USAG certified instructors focus on proper stretching and practice body shapes to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics. Students come to us with different strengths and we challenge each child individually with exercises in which she can find success. We train on the following events: vault, bars, beam, floor and trampoline. Specific USAG skills are taught that lay the foundation for building not only strong gymnasts but also provide an excellent base for lifelong fitness.

LEVEL 2 AGES 6+

Students are invited to the 90-minute Level 2 class after completing the Level 1 program by properly executing skills from our USAG-based curriculum. She will learn skills like round offs, back bend kick overs, handstand forward rolls, turns on balance beam and vaulting to handstand. We teach proper stretching, use strength and conditioning exercises and drill skills to create muscle memory.


LEVEL 3 AGES 6+

The 2-hour Level 3 class is offered to athletes upon completing Level 2 requirements. Your gymnast will work on skills like vaulting to front handspring, front hip circles on bars, back handsprings on floor and cartwheels on beam. She will learn proper stretching, use strength and conditioning exercises and drill skills to create proper muscle memory for skill progressions.

BEGINNING TUMBLING AGES 6+

Athletes will learn entry-level tumbling skills both on the floor and trampoline. This class is perfect for those students who want to expand their gymnastics flips and tricks. The skills taught within this class will include cartwheels, round offs, back bends, kick overs and back walkovers. With the ultimate goal to learn a standing back handspring. All of SDG’s tumbling classes are co-ed.


INTERMEDIATE TUMBLING AGES 8+

Athletes will work on their tumbling skills on both the floor and trampoline. This class is perfect for those students who can already perform a back handspring on their own and are looking to gain connections and tumbling passes across the floor. Prerequisite: back handspring. Your child will work on achieving a round off back handspring, front handsprings, aerials and much more. All of SDG’s tumbling classes are co-ed.

ADVANCED TUMBLING AGES 10+

Athletes will work on growing their tumbling skills on both the floor and trampoline. This class is perfect for students who are working on advanced standing skills, such as a back tuck on the floor.   Prerequisites skills required to be invited into this class: front handspring and round off back handspring. Your child will work on achieving more challenging tumbling skills and passes, such as a round-off back handspring back tuck on floor. All of SDG’s tumbling classes are co-ed.
