Jackie Hoover
Alternative Programs Director/Gymnastics Instructor

Jackie loves teaching kids how to play their way to fitness—activities like climbing ropes, tumbling on mats, jumping on boxes and doing pull ups are just a few of the ways to develop FIT kids.  Jackie spent most of her early years perfecting these exercises on her way to becoming one of the nation’s top gymnasts.  She then turned to track and field after a growth spurt in high school put a halt to her gymnastics career.

Jackie competed in the Junior Olympics for track and field as a teenager, and went on to become an NCAA All-American in track & field while earning her psychology degree at Allegheny College.  Jackie competed as a heptathlete (the women’s multi-event equivalent of the men’s decathlon), specializing in sprints, hurdles, jumps and throwing events.  As captain, she led her team to a conference championship. After college Jackie turned her focus to coaching. She became a Division I track and field coach and held positions at Harvard University, Clemson University, and The College of New Jersey, where she also earned her master’s degree in education. Realizing her love for helping kids get FIT, Jackie spent four years managing a gymnastics facility for children ranging from 6 months to 12 years old.  Years of training to be a top level gymnast and heptathlete, along with her experience coaching young adults and kids led her to CrossFit.   She is CrossFit Kids and CrossFit Level 1 certified.  She has the experience and knowledge to help kids PLAY their way to fitness. It’s not often you find a person with both the certifications and the elite training background.  Many of the same training techniques she used with some of the world's top athletes including Olympians are easily integrated into her workouts.

Jackie wants parents to know, “My passion is to promote healthy living in kids by making fitness fun. Teaching kids to work hard, play hard, and have fun as they run, jump, roll, climb, push, and pull builds a strong foundation for a healthy adult life.”  Jackie’s energy creates an amazing environment that makes kids and those around her excited about fitness...come be a part of it!
