San Diego Gymnastics are family owned gymnastics facilities for children 9 months to 18 years old. We have three great locations. Our first location opened in March of 2008 at Liberty Station in Point Loma. Our second location opened in April 2013 in the Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista and we proudly announced our third location at the Grossmont Center Mall in August of 2017.
Our goal is to provide a safe, fun and encouraging environment for kids to learn gymnastics and tumbling. Gymnastics has so many benefits, from all around fitness to improving the key ingredients to excel at any sport. Strength, flexibility, balance and self-confidence are just a few.
In addition to our exceptionally clean facilities and supportive environment, our locations were chosen with families in mind. Unlike most gymnastics facilities, we do not operate in a big warehouse in an industrial part of town. We are centered in retail areas with restaurants, shopping and ample parking. We are also in direct proximity to the majority of our neighborhood schools, so parents can easily drop off and pick up other children while their gymnast is training.
San Diego Gymnastics has brand new state of the art equipment. Children work out on age appropriate equipment and coaches use spotting tools to teach children the appropriate progressions to safely learn each skill. We follow a strict cleaning schedule, equipment check schedule and have lesson plans that incorporate each event for every level of classes.
Our coaches are hired for their experience both as gymnastics instructors but also other areas of expertise. We have credentialed school teachers, kinesiology majors, collegiate level coaches and cheer instructors on our staff. SDG has a strict child to teacher ratio, we background check every potential instructor, each instructor is USA Gymnastics certified, First Aid Certified and CPR Certified.
San Diego Gymnastics focuses on gymnastics as a recreational sport first and foremost, with the option to advance and participate in the competitive side as well. Our competitive team has a less rigorous schedule than other gyms as we believe that gymnastics is just one element in a child's life. Because of our structure, our gymnasts have less injuries, often do not reach "burn out" and have time for school and other sports and activities.
